101 Things About Me
- I have always been a poser. When I was two years old and on a camping trip, my mom brought out the camera and I automatically took my sunglasses down to the bridge of my nose and stuck my hand on my hip.
- My parents say that I have something called the “cuteness factor”. Where ever I go, I seem to get things for a discount or for free! It’s crazy and happens more frequently than not.
- When I was younger I had a dog named Daisy that we had to give away. My parents told me they were taking her to a farm, but I knew better. I just knew that they were taking her to the pound; I cried for days. Years later I found out that my parents really did give her to a family on a farm.
- In the fifth grade I got sent to the principal’s office for asking “too many questions”
- When I was in elementary school there was his kid who never showered. Of course I had to stand behind him for a year in the lunch line. I feel like I lost the ability to smell as well.
- On Christmas Eve in 2011 I had forgotten to buy my brother a Christmas gift. I frantically rushed to the mall and ran into Express (my brother’s favorite store). I had stolen some of his coupons that he got in the mail from Express, so I decided to use those. I found a great blue sweater for $45 and a hat for $30 that I thought he would like. Well, Express was having a blowout sale for Christmas AND I had those coupons; when I checked out, my total was only $7!!! Boy was Nick in for a surprise.
- When I was 11, my family and I saw a dog show at Silver Dollar City. The dogs jumped through hoops and did amazing tricks. My brother and I wanted a dog more than anything. Nick did his research and found out that Border Collies are one of the smartest breeds of dogs. We begged our parents for months to get a dog, but it didn’t happen. Finally, my mom took me to the dog pound and said we could look, but just for border collies. My mom thought we wouldn’t find any, but sure enough there was Oreo, on the top cage, the only dog not barking. We played with her for an hour outside, and in that time I taught her to sit on command. She’s been a part of our family ever since.
- I am one of those people who are very strong willed. When I was younger I refused to go to bed without a snack. My dad told me I couldn’t have one because I had not eaten dinner. Well, that wasn’t good enough for me. So, my dad and I took a drive (he thought I would just fall asleep and the fight would be over). That plan did not work; instead I put up a fight and wouldn’t put my seatbelt on. My dad told me a cop would arrest me if I didn’t, but I tested my luck. I did not put that seatbelt on. The fight continued and my dad drove me by the police station, “Danielle, put your seatbelt on, or you’ll end up there.” I still didn’t budge. Half an hour of this and I finally fell asleep. I guess I still do things the hard way because I am still learning every day!
